Bringing stories to life
The art of visual storytelling
For me, illustration is a way of paying attention to the details. Whether I’m capturing a complex editorial concept in a single image or building a whimsical world for a children's book, I aim for work that feels rooted and intentional. I create distinctive visual voices by focusing on the "why" behind the artwork.
Selected Projects
Feast for the Beasts
To capture the spirit of this annual fundraiser, I created an illustration that blends elegance with personality. I used loose, expressive line work and a warm, atmospheric palette to reflect the "classy jazz" vibe of the evening. It’s a playful take on a black-tie event, designed to invite the community into a night of music and dinner in support of the zoo’s mission.
Trees for Tucson Tree Care Guide
A comprehensive guide to tree care that is still in use today. This project required a balance of scientific accuracy and clear, inviting visuals to help residents understand everything from planting depths to energy-saving placement. It’s a great example of how illustration can turn complex environmental data into a practical tool for the community.
Personal Sketches
My personal work is a record of the details that catch my eye, often inspired by nature. I use quick sketches to document my experiences, especially local flora, cultural artifacts, or specific memories. This practice of observation and wonder keeps me curious and inspires my professional work.
